In addition to the S197 and the C1500, the rest of the S series is coming to an end in 2019 with the S205, which is a 5.5-liter V6 turbocharged engine that will be powered by a 6.3-liter diesel engine and available in all three of the model’s trim levels.
The next model to join the lineup is the S20, which will be available in a 5-liter inline-six engine with six-speed manual transmission and will also be available with a 6-speed automatic transmission.
And finally, we’ve got the S65, which offers a six-cylinder turbocharged V6 engine, with a six speed manual transmission available in the S and S65.
As you can see, the S range is set to end at a hefty price point of $68,750, and while that’s still not cheap for a luxury sedan, it’s significantly more affordable than the $71,100 price tag for the S-class.
There’s no word yet on when the S95, the next generation of the luxury sedan in the series, will be released.
We’ll be sure to update this story when we have more information on the next-generation luxury sedan.
