BMW X1 SportWagens have become the company’s most affordable models to date, but the company is aiming to broaden its lineup with the X3.
With the company aiming to sell 1 million X3s this year, BMW will launch a new SportWagon variant.
BMW says it’s aiming to build out a second SportWago for 2019.
The SportWagons will be available with standard and premium options and come in two versions.
The SportWAGEN Premium Package includes the standard X3 cabin, heated seats, heated leather seats, Bluetooth audio, navigation, heated door handles, power windows, power seat and power door locks.
The Premium Package will be offered on the X1 model, the first X1 to use the new aluminum alloy wheels and a new exterior paint scheme.
The Premium Package also includes the power sunroof and power heated seats and power mirrors, while the Premium Package Premium Package comes with a 15-inch alloy wheelset and a 15.6-inch wheelset.
In the SportWangen, BMW is adding a 7-inch infotainment screen, a 6.2-inch touch screen and a 7.0-inch touchscreen.
BMW also said it will offer a 6-inch LCD instrument cluster and a 6 inch touch display for the rearview mirror.
Inside, BMW says the Sportwagens will come with all the standard amenities, including heated seats with heated seat backs, heated wheels, power mirrors and heated door handle handles.
BMW is also saying that the Sport Wagon will come standard with a power sunrotor, heated mirrors and power steering.
The company is also adding a heated steering wheel, which will come in six-spoke alloy wheels.
The BMW X7 X1 Premium package will come equipped with heated seats in the Sport wagons, power sunvisors, heated doors and power driver’s seat.
BMW will also offer a power steering system in the X7 SportWango with a 6 inches touchscreen and a power-adjustable sunrooftop.
A new 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission is also included in the new Sport Wagons.
The X1 and X3 are also getting a more spacious interior, with a new center console and driver’s center console with a larger, 13-inch screen.
The driver’s side door panel is now 18 inches in length.
A 3.5-liter V8 engine is also on tap, and BMW says that it can produce 637 horsepower.
The new Sport wagon will be BMW’s first sports car to be sold in the United States, and the first new sports car in the country in more than 10 years.
